Home/Facial Procedures/Facelift/How Much Does Facelift Surgery Cost in London?

In London, pricing for facelift surgery generally ranges between £20,000 and £35,000. Designed to restore shape, tone, and balance where age and gravity have made their mark, facelift surgery is largely considered one of the most effective ways to rejuvenate the facial aesthetic. When the procedure is in the hands of a qualified provider, patients often consider the investment well worth it.
If you are considering a facelift with Mr William Townley in London, please understand that the cost will vary depending on which technique(s) are used, how much additional work (such as neck reduction) is required, and other factors. We aim to provide transparent, tailored quotes so you fully understand your investment from the outset.

What Is Facelift Surgery?

A facelift is a surgical procedure that aims to rejuvenate the lower third of the face, including the cheeks, jowls, jawline, and upper neck. Our London Consultant Plastic Surgeon is highly proficient in the “deep plane” approach, which involves the complex repositioning of the connective tissue and SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) as well as meticulous trimming and tightening of muscles. By lifting areas that have descended, smoothing deep creases, re-defining the jawline, and often improving neck contours, Mr Townley consistently creates results that are long-lasting and harmonious.

What Types of Facelift Surgery Are Available?

Mr Townley offers multiple facelift techniques, each suited to specific needs. The choice depends on how your face and neck are ageing, your skin quality, your anatomy, and your aesthetic goals. In general, most patients benefit from a combined deep plane facelift together with a deep neck reduction to contour both the neck and restore definition along the jawline. Where moderate to significant tissue laxity exists in the lower face and brow region, surgery is often combined with a temporal brow lift to help redistribute some of the “lifted tissue” and deliver a more harmonious look, as well as reduce scar length.

Deep Plane Facelift

This is Mr Townley’s preferred strategy for many patients. Utilising the deep plane method, he can lift and reposition the deeper connective tissue (the SMAS layer) along with overlying skin, allowing for more natural, long-lasting lifts around the cheeks, jowls, and jawline.

The deep plane strategy can also significantly improve neck contouring due to its influence on the underlying tissue layers. In particular, Mr Townley uses a specific modern technique for suspending the platysma muscle in the neck (mastoid crevasse technique) that gives a really tight jaw angle and neck shape. This may be combined with a reduction of parotid gland tissue, which may obscure the jaw angle, especially in men with heavy lower faces. With this in mind, patients frequently choose to combine their deep plane facelift with neck lift surgery for a more comprehensive result.

Given Mr Townley’s expertise in complex facial surgery through his facial nerve practice, he has very advanced knowledge and experience of the anatomy in the face to push boundaries safely to get the best outcome for his patients.

Short-Scar Facelift (Mini Facelift)

For patients with mild to moderate skin laxity and early jowling, a short-scar or “mini” facelift can sometimes be a suitable option. This technique uses smaller, more discreet incisions (typically just in front of the ears) to provide a subtle lifting and tightening of the lower face. While this method is generally less extensive than a full facelift, Mr Townley still utilises the deep plane approach (i.e., carefully repositioning the underlying facial tissues) to perform a short-scar facelift. This is only rarely appropriate as the majority of patients benefit from the full lift.

“Lift & Fill” Facelift (Facial Fat Transfer + Facelift)

In aesthetic facial surgery, restoring lost volume can make a big difference. Facial fat grafting (also called facial fat transfer) takes fat from one part of the body, purifies it, and injects it into areas of facial hollowing – such as the cheeks, temples, or under-eyes. This “lift and fill” approach can produce soft, youthful contours while providing the added benefit of contouring another area of the body. Fat grafting is often performed as an adjunctive procedure to deep plane facelift and may involve volumising injections (micro fat) or just liquid fat (nano fat) to improve skin quality and texture.

Factors that Can Influence Facelift Cost

There are several elements that affect the final cost of facelift surgery. Mr Townley’s pricing reflects not only surgical time, but also expertise, facility use, postoperative care, and the complexity of what needs to be done.
